The Passion Behind OvaGene
The founders of OvaGene are devoted to helping gynecologic cancer patients. They are very sympathetic to the cause as they have traveled down that road with family members and close friends who have gone through diagnosis and treatment for a gynecologic cancer. We recognize that more industry emphasis needs to be place on gynecologic cancer research and development than has been in the past. OvaGene is diligently working towards collaborations with key medical centers and academic institutions to make this dream a reality.
How is OvaGene helping Cancer patients?
OvaGene Oncology is a clinical laboratory and research center working on introducing a variety of proprietary gene-based tests in 2011 designed to help physicians choose the most appropriate therapy for treating the patient's specific cancer. Every patient's cancer is unique to that individual and must be evaluated in order to properly assess the likelihood of recurrence or therapy response. This testing is known as "Personalized medicine" and provides critical information to the patient's gynecologic oncologist about the individual patient's genetic response. OvaGene's product pipeline for mid-2011 includes tests related to endometrial, ovarian, and cervical cancer recurrence and drug response.
OvaGene and Patient Advocacy
OvaGene is actively reaching out to patient advocacy groups to offer our support by providing expert speakers at advocacy events, corporate exhibiting, and other potential collaborations. OvaGene is committed to helping inform women about the latest discoveries in gynecologic cancer research and to raise awareness of OvaGene's mission to develop critical molecular-based cancer tests. OvaGene shares a common focus with advocacy groups to educate women on gynecologic cancer treatment options and to provide them with the best that the medical and scientific community has to offer them. The ultimate goal is to develop new molecular tests to help improve patient survival and enhance their quality of life.
